Thes chemical reaction, at first: we get a color, at second: we get a crystal that is possible to touch and eat!

Of the substances we need:

  • - jars with a wide throat which will grow colored crystals
  • - the skewers on which they will grow,
  • - clothespins to fasten the skewers on jars
  • food dye that will make our sweet crystals.
  • - you may need the flavors, if necessary, to the crystals smelt
  • and, of course, the most important ingredient, from which we will grow the crystals - is sugar!

If everything is ready, then prepare the following proportion of saturated sugar solution: 10 cups of sugar and 4 cups of water. Pour into a saucepan 4 cups of water and put to heat, then pour in it 4 cups of sugar (not 10, but 4 cups!). Wait until the water boils and, accordingly, the sugar will dissolve. You can stir. After boiling add the remaining cups of sugar, stir the sugar solution.

After final the dissolve of sugar remove the stop heating, let our "sugar syrup" cool down. Meanwhile, it needs to prepare the sticks. Before using them it is necessary to moisten with water, to sugar better attached and appear fine crystals, from which will grow large crystals.

Now attention! Put our wet sticks in a "sugar syrup" and pull them back for thorough drying. This operation is necessary in order to get the crystals on the sticks. After dropping the sticks have to dry well, otherwise it will not work.

If all is done correctly, begin to fun job! Pour the sugar solution from the pot in a few jars, add to each your food color and then slowly put in it prepared and dried a sticks that will hang (as on picture). Please note that the sticks don't touch the bottom, and each other and the walls of the container (if in a jar a few sticks). This will provide the free growth of crystals.

That's all. Now place the jars in a bright and relatively warm place (glass cabinet, shelf in the room) and leave them for a week for a sweet result!

How to make slime at home - use the means available - PVA (or polyvinyl alcohol), sodium borate (H3BO3). PVA glue can be purchased at office supply or business stores, and sodium borate - in the pharmacy as a disinfectant substance.

Take a bowl of small capacity, which is then no longer useful at home. Depending on what the size of the slime we need, pour the glue to the bowl and add a little borate of sodium (the proportions of the reactants are 3 : 1 where 3 parts is PVA glue).

Once the reagents are mixed, you need to carefully stir with a stick until you get a thick substance. Also to reagents (to glue) to add a dye, food dye, for larger effect.
