Sometimes you may need to paint fabric at home. But before proceeding, it is important to define the following concepts: to know types of fabric, fiber composition of the fabric and its properties (you can try to look on the label), choose the right dye (otherwise you just ruin the product) and, of course, strictly follow instructions!
Of course, it is best at first to paint fabric use a piece of similar material (for example, a part of back side fabric).
Available paints for certain types of fabrics and versatile. Fabrics of cotton, linen, viscose and mediamine fibers dyed with direct dyes; natural silk and wool with acid dyes; and and nylon - dispersed; nitron - cationic dyes. Painting viscose, linen and cotton fabrics also can produce active dyes - paint without heating. The color is bright and stable.
Universal dye is a mixture of different dyes used for wool, nylon and cotton.
Dyes for nylon and anida (dispersed) also paint acetate fabric. Disperse dyes do not dissolve in water.

To paint fabrics of new things (not worn), you need to do:
- it should be washed in detergents to remove layers of various substances (such as antistatic agents and similar). Generally, thin fabric before painting at first should be rinsed in a solution of ammonia (ammonia solution), prepared at the rate of 50 g of 25% ammonia in 10 l of water (why adopted 25% - so it is sold in hardware stores). After that, the fabric should be well rinsed in water.
To paint fabrics worn things do:
- first you need to remove all unnecessary spots (how to remove the stain). Then align the existing paint on the clothes - faded parts of fabrics are pre-painted. This is very important when thing repainted in bright colors. Then the product is washed with washing powder. Silk and wool are made for 30-40 min at 40-50 0C in a solution of liquid ammonia (50 g of a 25% alcohol per 5 liters of water). Sometimes for use the best effect and quality of color fabric it needs better bleac before.
By the way, all metal jewelry and buttons should be removed before painting.
As already mentioned, when to paint fabric you need to know that kind of the fabric to be dyed. This will help the next plate:

Fabric Painting
Recommendations for use dyes are on their packaging. They must observed.
In order to know how much to take dye and in which the amount of water to dissolve it, at first we must weigh the things that we want to paint. Packages with paint have a label with mass of dry cloth (fabric) for the dye. For example, how to paint fabrics of viscose or flax with direct dyes:
Package content and a tablespoon of salt dissolved in 0.5 liters of hot water. The solution to drain into a large bowl and add water to were covered fully with solution laundered and pressed repaint products. At weak boiling to paint 1 h, then 30 min without boiling.
After dyeing the fabric must be rinsed in cold water. Painting viscose fabrics is performed at a temperature not above 60 0C and without salt.
